‘German Escape Tour’ ..Part 4..

Dresden and Duisburg

Dresden is a cool city. If you ever get the chance, you should go.

There are quite a few technical hitches during the show (one of which had me running up two flights of stairs twice -as if I need anymore physical exertion during the show!) but despite all this we have a fun show. Afterwards we hit Dresden bars, meet cool people, discuss the terrible happenings in Woolwich, arm wrestle with a 7ft German guy called Alex, drink dodgy shots and copious amounts of German beer and…..probably other stuff but I can’t remember the end of the night.

It’s a 7 hour drive next day. I sleep through most of it which is lucky. There is a close breakdown when Slim realises the engine temperature has sky-rocketed. He takes the water cap off and it explodes spraying hot water all over the shop! Fortunately a bit of water sorts it out. When we get home we will miss Germany but certainly we will not miss this van. Give us our trusty Landy any day.

Anyway, Temple Folk Festival is good fun. Lots of familiar faces in the crowd, swaying and singing.

Thank you Nina and co. for looking after us so well. We love you. Though maybe those two bottle of Vodka were a little too much! We take them to surprise a lucky couple who got hitched, Tina and Mike, who got engaged the day we played Haldern Pop Festival. German weddings are fun.

Michael entered into the wedding spirit and got himself hitched to a girl named Claudia. (The ceremony was carried out by Slim while Max took care of Best Man duties!)

German tours are fun too. Time to go home now but we’ll be back Germany. See you in August….xxx
